Yorùbá ni “Òṣìkà kú, inú ilú dùn, ẹni rere kú inú ilú bàjẹ́”.  Bi o ti le jẹ́ pé Nelson Mandela ti pé marun din-lọgọrun ọdun láyé (1918 – 2013), gbogbo àgbáyé ṣe dárò rẹ nitori ohun ti ó gbé ilé ayé ṣe.  Ó fi ara da iyà lati gba àwọn enia rẹ sílẹ̀ ni oko ẹrú ni ilẹ̀ wọn.  Ó fi ẹmi ìdáríjì han nigbati ó dé ipò Olórí Òṣèlú.  Kò lo ipò rẹ lati kó ọrọ̀ jọ, ó gbé ipò sílẹ lẹhin ti ó ṣe ọdún marun àkọ́kọ́.  Eleyi jẹ́ ki ọmọdé, àgbà, Òṣèlú, Ọlọ́rọ̀, Òtòṣì, funfun àti dúdú papọ̀ nibi ètò ìrántí rẹ ni Ọjọ́ Ìṣẹ́gun, Ọjọ́ Kẹwa, Oṣù Kejila, ọdún Ẹgba-̃le-mẹtala.

According to the Yoruba adage “The wicked dies, the people rejoice, the righteous dies, the people mourns”.   Even though, Nelson Mandela died at ripe age of ninety-five (1918 to 2013), the World mourns because of the legacy he left.  He endured suffering in order to set his people free from apartheid in their land.  He showed the spirit of forgiveness when he became the President.  He did not use his position to amass wealth, he stepped aside after his first term of five years.  These qualities endeared him to the young, the old, Politicians, Rich, Poor, white and black that gathered to pay their last respect at the State Memorial Service organised in his honour on Tuesday, 10th December, 2013.

Nelson Mandela’s “Live and Time” is a lesson for the world especially those in position of authority, the Politicians.  The Government of South Africa announced the programme of his burial arrangements as follows:
