English Translation:

The tragedy that occurred on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Woolwich buttresses the Yoruba saying that is loosely translated into “a good child is the father’s but a bad one is the mother’s”. The best take away from this saying under the circumstances is to encourage restraint from all the people who are justifiably angry from the hacking to death of a soldier in Woolwich.

As someone who has lived in Peckham in recent years, it is also interesting to note that disturbed young people engage in stabbing innocent people quite often on the streets of South London. Whether the excuse is armed robbery or radical Islam, neither excuse is reasonable — and we ought to be reasonable. The best solution here is for us to condemn all violence wherever it appears — because an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.

Michael Adebolajo is now the child of his mother Nigeria, and there should be no surprise that his father, the United Kingdom will reject him as a result of his actions. It’s funny that the suspect himself considers his true family to be in Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan, because the British government can hardly be blamed for killing women and children in Nigeria.
